as good as the shOpping is around most big towns & cities now there are still some stores that remain unique to lOndon . Liberty is one of those & one that i always look forward to pOpping into . & . particularly over the past few years with the various collaborations they have participated in . from Hermes in 2009 . Blahnik & Barbour . Acne & Erdem . through to the ongoing partnership with Nike .

the latest marries the classic Liberty florals with the modern LifeWear philosophy of Uniqlo . easy to wear shapes in some of Liberty's most recognisable prints for women & for littleOnes . it has many covetable pieces . 

it has also been beautifully shot by the iconic fashion photographer Nick Knight . who has brought his own unique vision to the fusion of past & future .

i have known jane for a good few years . once upon a time . in what feels like many moons ago . we worked together . we went on shopping trips & work trips . there were smiles & laughs { not to mention a few tears } along the way . & . whilst we now don't see each other very often i lOve catching up with her to chat about crafting . sewing . a mutual love for all things liberty .

just over a year ago jane combined her lOve of liberty prints & sewing to open a lOvely Etsy shop . Love by Jane . mixing her own handmade pieces alongside repurposed vintage finds .  

so i couldn't resist the chance to pop over & have another catch up & photograph her gorgeous studio & feature her on the blOg .

i remember when i was small . { and yes, we are going back many many years } . & . the excitement of being allowed to choose how i wanted my bedroom decorated . now i hope my taste level has improved some over the years as my { slightly dubious } choice was to theme my room around Peirrot . now i say theme, but back in the 80's that actually meant buying the wallpaper, the matching curtains, the matching duvet, the matching lamp . & . so on . { and i can't quite believe i've managed to find the exact same wallpaper . curtains . & . duvet on Pinterest . don't you just lOve the internet ! } .

things have moved on a little since those days . people are so much more used to co-ordinating rooms from different sources . putting their own schemes together . and putting their own spin on different looks . largely thanks to the likes of Pinterest . & . the huge variety of patterns . & . colour schemes on offer . both on the High Street & Online . wAllpaper in particular has become so much more varied . from the simpler two colour patterns . through to wAllpaper you can colour in yourself . 

and wAllpaper now has it's own week of being wOnderful . tOday marks the start of National Wallpaper Week . and with that in mind i took a look at what i could have chosen now instead of Peirrot .

despite the slightly gloomy weather outside on mOnday, islingtOn was buzzing with fresh summer colour, with pineapple prints, with origami animals & birds, & more than a few prints inspired by the new colouring-in craze .  slightly disappointed that a few old names were noticeable by their absence this season;  nO added sUgar . billieblUsh . & . bOnnie bAby had only let the bOnnie mOb out to play . 

there was still plenty to see though . & . more than a few sUper new brands were spotted . as last season's instagram provided such cool images i've let them take the lead this season too . it's always interesting to see the shOw through other's eyes too . see what took their fancy & what was popular under the #discoverbubble & #bubblelondon hashtags .

it's a rainy day here today . a little grey . so i'm looking for things to brighten up my day . & . what better than reminiscing of childhood summers when the sun shone every day . & . instead of i-pads & all of that other new fangled technology we had things like kaleidoscopes & colouring books . yes . remember those ?

colouring books are having something of a revival . particularly amongst those of us who remember them from our childhoods . but more on that another day .
